Congratulations Chrissy and Wesley Idlette

On December 29, Chrissy Eastridge and Wesley Idlette were married at First Broad Street United Methodist Church.  The wedding was very beautiful, but the story of the proposal was so touching, it would make the most cynical person cry. I so much enjoyed working with these young people, not only the bride and groom, but every one of the wedding party. Chrissy and her mother Joy allowed me a lot of freedom to do what I wanted with the bouquets and boutonnieres.  Chrissy had told me that Wesley absolutely refused to wear flowers, but that is no problem.  I am thankful that I can do what I really love, and have it be appreciated by the families.

Foundation Event Facility

I had the opportunity to see the Foundation Event Facility at 620 State Street, Bristol, Tennessee on Friday.  Was I ever overwhelmed!  I had seen their website and the pictures of events being held there, but it doesn’t begin to capture the beauty of the place.  The outside doors, with the impressive brass pulls, bring you into a huge hallway with hardwood floors and exposed brick.  That space could be used as a wedding reception venue for a stand-up cocktail party, since there is a bar on that floor.
The mezzanine, which overlooks the first floor, is a smaller, more intimate space for maybe 70 people.  It would be great for a small company party or a shower of some type.  It also has a bar.
The third floor is huge, with big windows at the end, with seating for 500.  There is a large separate space for staging the food, or serving a buffet.  There is a fixed bar, but the room could be used for many purposes, and in many different configurations.
There are dressing rooms, very nicely decorated for each wedding party.  There are floor-length mirrors in both.  The men’s room is very masculine, and the women’s room is beautiful.  Even the doors throughout have architectural detail.  I can’t say enough about how much I loved it.
I am not attaching a picture.  I am not a photographer.  You need to see it for yourself.

12.12.12

It would be such a challenge and so much fun to be given an amount of money and told that I could spend it however I wanted to make a lovely wedding – in one week.  If you are thinking of popping the question this holiday season, why not get engaged today and get married next Wednesday.  It would be so cool to get married with the date of 12.12.12.  I know I could make it truly wonderful.  Call me at (423) 943-2630.  We’ll have a whirlwind planning session and pull it off in a week.

Congratulations Miranda and Dakota

Miranda Dougherty and Dakota Haynes were married this evening at Rose Hill Wedding Chapel in Johnson City.  The church is truly beautiful, if you haven't had a chance to see it.  They are a lovely couple and I wish them well.  I was fortunate enough to be able to arrange the flowers.  Here are a few sneak peaks.

Congratulations Chelle and Zack

Congrats to Chelle Christian and Zach Allen, who got married tonight in Harrogate.  When she first talked to me about wanting sunflowers and wildflowers, I knew it was going to be beautiful.  I ordered 60 sunflowers, but had to get six more.  Can you imagine what that many sunflowers, along with wildflowers looked like?  Here are a few sneak peaks.  I wish them all the best for a wonderful life together.

Camo Garter

I hope I have made it very clear, in the past, that I am here as an extension of the bride.  I have my own ideas, but ultimately, the bride's wishes are going to determine the mood and feel of the wedding.  When I heard that one of my brides and her bridesmaids are going to wear cowboy boots, I was thrilled. This is going to be a different experience for me, and I am so happy that they are making the wedding exactly what they want it to be.

Hey, people, there are no hard and fast rules.  On your wedding day, you get to choose.

When she asked me if I knew where she could get a realtree camo garter, I said, "No, but I can make one if you tell me the meaning of realtree."  I got genuine realtree fabric and made one garter to toss and one to keep.

If you need a special garter, realtree or pink polka dot, I can make it for you.  Just name the color and theme.

Pink Dahlia

If you are getting married in the next couple of weeks, and don't have your flowers yet, my friend, Linda, at Aunt Willie's Wildflowers has an overabundance of pink dahlias.  I used them in a wedding, along with other wildflowers in a September wedding last year.  The groom thought they were so beautiful that they couldn't be real.

It's not too late to do something amazing.  Call me at (423)943-2630.
